In 1974, Mr. Lonnie entered Rutgers College of Engineering with every intention of pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering like his dad. But he shortly found he was far more interested in his Business classes than his Chemistry classes. With that, he switched to a major in Business Administration. Along the way, without bothering to tell anyone, he also decided to pursue a double major in both Business and Psychology. In the final semester of his senior year, Mr. Lonnie took a course in Marketing Research and realized he had found a profession that incorporated the disciplines of both Business and Psychology. Voilá, a lifelong career in Marketing Research was hatched.
Currently, Mr. Lonnie is Vice President of Communications for the Interactive Marketing Research Organization (IMRO) and also serves on the Leadership Committee for the Journal of Online Research. Until recently he served as VP of Communications for the New Jersey division of the American Marketing Association. From 1983 to 1987, Mr. Lonnie was Marketing Manager of New Products for NFO Research and helped reposition the nation's largest panel company from traditional mail surveys to an interactive future. From 1988 to 1996, he was VP of Client Services for Visual Research Communications. In that capacity he oversaw all research services.
Mr. Lonnie lives in Red Bank, NJ with his wife Susan, daughter Kathleen and identical twin sons, Michael and Sean.
Sean is currently based in San Diego, CA where he manages a full-service office for KL Communications.
Sean has spent over a decade in the marketing research industry, working closely with a range of Fortune 500 companies. Most recently,
Sean has focused on the growth of online communities, panels and social media and how these tools are reshaping the marketing research industry. He has been a
featured presenter at IIR, AMA, QRCA and MRA national conferences as well as other industry events. Mr. Holbert has a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from The College of New Jersey and currently resides in San Diego, CA.
Ms. Allyssa Brandt Gresser joined KL Communications in 2008. Ms. Gresser is currently responsible for overseeing the day to day research operations in the Red Bank, NJ office as well as working directly with clients to ensure all research needs are met.
After earning a BA from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, Ms. Gresser began her research career with MTV Networks/Nickelodeon where she focused on analyzing television ratings, reporting on syndicated research, and moderating focus groups. Allyssa continued her career at iN DEMAND Networks where she spearheaded all consumer research. Her next adventure was at Scholastic, where she took the lead in developing strategic research plans for the different business units across the company.
Ms. Gresser has extensive experience developing and implementing strategic research plans from start to finish, including: developing concepts, crafting and writing questionnaires, analyzing and presenting actionable results, and moderating focus groups (online and offline) among both children and adults.
Ms. Zavila oversees research design and implementation for both qualitative and quantitative projects. She directs any advanced statistical analyses, including multiple regression and choice based designs. She is also an experienced moderator, both online and in person. She has worked in marketing research for more than two decades representing both the client and service sides of the industry. Her experience spans several industries, including financial services, telecommunications, consumer packaged goods, publishing and entertainment.
After receiving her M.S. in Consumer Economics and Marketing from Cornell University, she worked for AT & T and then American Express, conducting strategic and new product development research instrumental in developing the initial online service offerings of these firms. She then moved to Citibank, N.A. and conducted customer research for the North American Consumer Banking Group for several years.
In 1995, Ms. Zavila began her own marketing analysis practice, specializing in strategic market studies, product development and service quality research. She resides near Red Bank, NJ with her husband and two daughters.
Duties typically include marketing strategy & execution, R&D, IT, web design, and client services. John is also the lead social media analyst with a specific focus on synthesizing social media with other research methodologies.
John graduated from the inaugural Honors College program at the University of Vermont and majored in business administration with specific concentrations in marketing, finance, and psychology. He has a diverse professional background which includes positions in education, customer service, sales, market research, and retail.
Lisa is the Director of Qualitative Research for KL Communications and specializes in qualitative study design & execution, moderation, and reporting.
Lisa brings more than 10 years of experience in project and operations management, qualitative research, data analysis, and reporting to the team. After earning her BA at Rutgers College, New Brunswick, NJ, Lisa began working for Quintiles, where she honed her project management skills. She then served as Market Research Operations Manager for Brand Engineers, where she supervised and executed all aspects of qualitative and quantitative studies. She joined the KL Communications team in 2009, and works out of the company’s office in Red Bank, NJ.
Ms. Kroll is a graduate of Monmouth University with a degree in Communications. For several years she managed a video post-production facility. There her responsibilities included editing on both computer-based linear and non-linear equipment. In addition to her degree in Communications, Ms. Kroll also earned an A.A.S. degree in Computer Science.
Ms. Kroll worked on a wide variety of projects from commercials and instructional tapes to industrial and market research videos. In 1998 she joined KL Communications and is now the Director of Production Services. Ms. Kroll takes advantage of her experiences in business, communications and computers to oversee a host of key services.
Ms. Penrose started working at KL Communications in 2009, as the Manager of Community/Research Services. She is responsible for maintaining KL’s client community environment, coordinates panel/community recruitment efforts, and directs community research projects.
After earning a degree in Economics from Rider University, Laura began her research career with Gannett NJ. Working as the Market Research Analyst for the New Jersey papers, Laura managed the reader panel, analyzed newspaper readership, and helped to develop advertising plans for local and national businesses.
Ms. Lang, Senior Project Manager, began working at KL Communications in 2003. As the Senior Project Manager, Ms. Lang directs the project flow for various online panels, both new and long-standing. This work includes questionnaire design, survey programming, database management, tabulation analysis, and report writing. She is also responsible for training new Project Managers as well as mentoring current Project Managers.
In addition, Ms. Lang oversees the execution and analysis of all KL Communications Panel Health evaluations. KLC puts high importance on maintaining an enjoyable experience for participants and conducts regular surveys to evaluate their point of view and in turn enhance all aspects of the panel experience. Using the results from Panel Health evaluations, Ms. Lang works to continuously improve the panel experience for all members.
Before joining KL Communications, Ms. Lang earned her Bachelor of Science in Marketing at The College of New Jersey and then entered the field of Market Research at a local firm specializing in consumer research. There her main responsibility was administering in person surveys.
Mr. Vuong joined the KL Communcations team in 2010 after graduating from Tulane University. While there he majored in Marketing and Linguistics with concentrations in Consumer Behavior and Childhood Learning respectively. Marvin has a professional background in both the education and marketing fields.
Marvin's responsibilties involve handling tabulation analysis, survey programming, report writing, and database management.
Mr. Noble joined the KL Communications team in 2010 as the Community Coordinator. He maintains client panels and communities, updates client websites, and analyzes and reports on data from community members. Previously, George worked at Custom Video Productions in Red Bank, where he served as Marketing Specialist, and has held numerous internships, including a market research internship in London, England.
George graduated from Syracuse University in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in both Marketing and Finance. He currently lives in Middletown, NJ.
Mr. McDonough joined the KL Communications team in 2011 after graduating from Monmouth University in the winter of 2010. While there he majored in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, also receiving his minor in Information Technology. During his senior year, Mr. McDonough participated in the start up of a student run company, Bevo Water, where he served as the Marketing Manager
Mr. McDonough handles most of the Administrative duties at KL Communications while also maintaining and updating client panels and websites. He also assists in social media research and serves as the local digital image specialist.
