A First-Timer’s Recap of TMRE 2013

The Market Research Event, our industry’s largest and finest conference, was held this year in Nashville at the bright & lovely Opryland Hotel.

Keynote speakers which included Daniel Pink, Malcom Gladwell, and Jane McDonigal had various things to say that all seemed to address in some way the quickly expanding, connected world we live in and the need for strategic collaboration.

I think Daniel Pink gave us an important tip (in my words): we all must know how to sell our own relevance and skill set in a world where the distance between professional creators and consumers is shrinking.

Malcolm Gladwell, with a lesson of the inverted U curve, said in so (too) many words that all good things come to an end and if it ain’t working why wait so long to fix it? Let’s think better, faster and together to stay on the upslope of that upside down U.

Jane McDonigal, PhD, perhaps the most insightful professional in the gaming industry, suggests we can meet all our needs for positive emotions, solve world problems, and cure diseases faster, better and have fun doing it with a little gamification. Incidentally, Jane’s goal is to have a gamer win the noble peace prize. She’s got my vote and I predict it shall come to pass!

My goal is to get the Market Research Industry and those great brands we serve on board with CrowdWeaving®, which is customer co-creation at its finest, so brands can innovate faster and with greater success.  To learn more and get on board, contact me – Misty Stansbury, Inside Sales Manager, KL Communications at
